THE BAYOUS
"Brooding and seething with life, the swamp is ancient and majestic, it's unkept beauty is compelling. This is the first major painting done on a subject which I have persisted for many years since." -Simon Gunning
" The Sun on Vincent's Bow. Painted before Katrina, this piece is of shrimp and fishing boats docked in Bayou la Loutre, south east of New Orleans. The title is a play on words as the sun strikes the bow of the boat named Vincent. The painter Vincent Van Gogh is honored in this piece.
